The Mark Davies Injured Riders Fund has confirmed the line-up for its Celebrity Polo Day on Sunday 22 July 2008 at Cowdray Park Polo Club in Midhurst (West Sussex). The MDIRF - headed by Patron, Zara Phillips - offers invaluable assistance to anyone injured in horse related accidents and this event is one of the Charity’s key fund-raisers.

The players and celebrities will now include Katie Price and Peter Andre; television presenters Kirsty Gallagher and Penny Smith; and actress Michelle Collins. Lucinda Green and Otis Ferry also join the line-up - with Richard Dunwoody, racehorse trainer Charlie Mann and National Hunt jockey, Noel Fehily representing the world of horseracing.

Those riding will make up four teams, each consisting of two celebrity riders and two professional polo players. Spectators can watch every team play a chukka of polo with the two winners battling it out in the Final for the MDIRF Trophy. High Goal polo features later in the day when Cowdray Park’s Midhurst Town Cup, the curtain-raiser to the Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup season, offers the chance to see some of the world’s finest polo players in action.

Spectators are welcome to bring picnics and dogs (on leads) who can take part in the Pedigree Chum Dog Agility Challenge. There will also be trade stands and the opportunity to bid for items in the Silent Auction marquee. Refreshments will be available. Gates open at 10.00am and the MDIRF pro-celebrity tournament starts at 11.00 am with the Final at 12 noon. Entry on Day at £10 per car (includes driver and one adult passenger with all children under 12 free - all other adult passengers £5 each) Cowdray Park is located at the junction between the A286 and A272 close to Midhurst.
